Photos from Rescue our Chibok Girls protest in Abuja.

Some women took to the streets in Abuja today to protest the missing schoolgirls that were abducted from their school at Chibok on April 14th. Former Education Minister Oby Ezekwesili and front-line Human Rights lawyer Femi Falana are part of the protesters.

The tears flowed without limits and I wonder if consoling words will provide any comfort for the family of the girls that are held hostage in the Boko Haram den. The FG and Military have promised to do their best and have assured the families and all Nigerians of safe recovery of the girls. We join to pray for that day when Nigerians will hear the news of their release. God bless and safe our country Nigeria! See more pics after the cut...

How true? Abducted school girls married off abroad for N2,000.00.

OK, here's seriously hoping that this is not true. But according to reports, the 234 girls abducted at Government Girls College on April 15th may have been married off for N2,000 each and may also have been removed from the Nigeria to neighbouring countries like Chad and Cameroon.

Daily Trust reports

Most of the 234 Borno schoolgirls in Boko Haram captivity have been ferried abroad to Chad and Cameroon after they were married off to sect members on N2,000 bride price each, an elder told Daily Trust yesterday.
Dr. Pogu Chibok, who is the leader of the Chibok Elders Forum, told Daily Trust yesterday that latest information available to them indicates that most of the girls have been taken to the neighboring Cameroon and Chad by their captors.
He said before they were ferried in canoes across the Lake Chad, a wedding ceremony was conducted at a town on the border with Cameroon where they were married off to Boko Haram militants. Continue...

He said N2,000 was paid as bride price on each of the girls to the specific Boko Haram members who took them from their school and who had assumed “ownership” of the students.

Military's progress report on search for abducted school girls.

Reporting from InfoNg:
Nigeria’s military said it has tracked down and surrounded the location, where over 200 schoolgirls who were abducted two weeks ago from Government Secondary School, Chibok, are reportedly being held captive by Islamist sect Boko Haram.

The military is said to be applying caution in its approach having identified the various camps where the girls are held, to ensure their safety it explores several options, including intense negotiations by locals and the Borno State Government to secure their release.

“The operation is being strategically carried in a very covert manner because the terrorists will not hesitate to use any of the girls as human shields or even kill them in the event of an attack.

Air search for Malaysian missing plane called off!

Reporting from Leadership:
Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott said on Monday that airborne search for surface wreckage of the missing Malaysia Airlines plane has been called off.

He said in Sydney that it was highly unlikely that searchers would find any debris on the ocean surface.

Abbott said this became imperative because the search for the missing Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 has entered its 52nd day without any result.

“None of our efforts have found any wreckage,’’ he said.

The Prime Minister said, however, that the underwater search for flight MH370 would continue. (dpa/NAN)

A must read - TB Joshua's prophesy on Abducted School Girls.

In a dry and thirsty land, a drop of water will do wonders. So are the reassuring words of Prophet TB Joshua who has prophesied that the abducted girls will be found. Speaking in his church yesterday, Prophet TB Joshua has said he saw a vision that the girls were released. He also urged Nigerians and their parents to pray for the release of the girls, but above all he says God has spoken that He will release them. A big AMEN to that.

“They have to be released. That is the voice of God. I saw a vision where some of these girls have escaped and they are trying to find their way from the forest to the town. In the midnight, some of these girls ran away. The ones that are still under their custody – God said He will release them. This is the voice of God. God has spoken – these children must be released. We can’t wait to see them. God has marked them that nothing should happen. Continue after the cut.

With 20% of the underwater search area left to be explored by the Bluefin-21, the search strategy for the plane remains the same, Hishammuddin said Wednesday. "We will continue with the search operation until we fully cover the search area," he said.

President Goodluck Jonathan has agreed that the University of Lagos should keep its identity ,pending the resolution of the National Assembly on the issue. (And am thinking it shouldn't even be an issue to be considered by the National Assembly)

It would be recalled that Jonathan had on June 12, 2012 announced the change of the institution from University of Lagos to Moshood Abiola University.

The declaration which triggered a protest, also led to a court case that forced the Federal Government to back down on the plan.

Speaking to the Nigerian Tribune, UNILAG Vice Chancellor, Professor Rahman Bello, disclosed that Jonathan had decided to leave the final decision on the name change to the National Assembly, since it was an Act of Parliament that established the university.

Loving stripes in iNteriOr? Then this is for you!

It's cool to love trend and designs but really uncool to misuse or mismatch them. So learning how best to maximize what you love, could just be a very wise option. Okay now, whether you use them in a traditional way or in a totally modern and contemporary way, decorating with stripes is a great way to get a "decorator" look and bring some order to your space. They have the power to reshape a room depending on how they're used, and they add a crisp, polished element to a space. Best of all, stripes mix beautifully with solids, florals, and other patterns meaning they can be used just about anywhere.

One of the best things about stripes is that they're versatile. They can be elegant when they're tone-on-tone, or wild when they're bright and bold; classic when the stripes are the same width, and modern when they're all different.

Where to Use Stripes

Kate Middleton's three dresses on Easter day - Very stylish!

Getty ImagesGetty ImagesGetty Images
Yeah she wore all three on the same day, it comes with being royal dear. First in Sydney, the Duchess dressed up for Easter Sunday services in a pale lilac hued Alexander McQueen skirt suit and matching hat by Jane Taylor. She accessorized with L.K. Bennett Harper sued pumps and an Alexander McQueen clutch. After which the Royal Couple swung by their sure-to-be high security-monitored digs to change into more casual gear and pick up Prince George for a day at Taronga Zoo.

And next stop, Canberra, Australia--complete with an outfit change, naturally. Kate swapped her pastel frock for a three-peat Stella McCartney cobalt blue shift dress and navy suede pumps. Little George matched mum (and dad's tie) in a Rachel Riley cardigan and navy shorts. It looks like the Royal Family is had a great Easter day. Which of Kate's looks do you like best? Am loving the casual cream gown in the middle picture.

Good looks is good business, dress your best, dress the part, dress for success!

7 habits of remarkably happy people- You can be happy you know!

Happiness: everyone wants it, yet relatively few seem to get enough of it.

Good news and bad news: unfortunately, approximately 50 percent of your happiness, your "happiness set-point," is determined by personality traits that are largely hereditary. Half of how happy you feel is basically outside your control.

But, that means 50 percent of your level of happiness is totally under your control: relationships, health, career, etc. So even if you're genetically disposed to be somewhat gloomy, you can still do things to make yourself a whole lot happy or happier.

1. Make good friends.
It's easy to focus on building a professional network of partners, customers, employees, connections, etc, because there is (hopefully) a payoff.

But there's a definite payoff to making real (not just professional or social media) friends. Increasing your number of friends correlates to higher subjective well being; doubling your number of friends is like increasing your income by 50% in terms of how happy you feel.

A must read - Possible contents of Jonathan's proposed Constitution amendment.

Reporting from Daily Trust:
President seeks support from groups

A proposal to empower President Jonathan to come up with a new national constitution may be reintroduced in the Senate, following intense lobbying on behalf of the president, Daily Trust learnt.

When the clause first came up in the Senate weeks ago, through a bill from the Constitution Review Committee, senators opposed giving the president the same latitude as the National Assembly in proposing a new constitution.

This forced chairman of the committee and Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu to withdraw that aspect of the bill to avoid a negative vote. Under the Senate rules, a bill or part of it can be reintroduced if it is withdrawn before being subjected to a vote.

Annoying and Shocking conditions by PDP Governors to GEJ for #2015.

I opened my mouth in shock as I read these conditions by PDP Governors to the President as it regards ticket for 2015, like are they serious! Please read on to share in the shock and annoyance.

Reporting from BellaNaija.
Game of Thrones…err Nigerian Politics!

Governors of the ruling party, Peoples Democratic Party have reportedly given President Goodluck Jonathan three conditions to back his yet to be announced election bid for 2015.

They include;
Allowing outgoing governors choose their successors
Automatic second term tickets for those running first term in office
Automatic senatorial seats for governors aspiring to be in the Senate

Sahara Reporters states that all is not well within the party on how the demands by the governors will be met. And a few governors are threatening protest votes in their states if they are not allowed to have their way.

A source reveals that Adamu Muazu, PDP National Chairman is opposed to automatic tickets and is devising a way of accommodating the requests

A unnamed governor says “All the governors are united in their demands to have a say on who will succeed them and second term tickets for their colleagues who still have the opportunity of another term in office.

They said if the President can enjoy automatic second term ticket, it should spread across the board. The party is thinking that such a development will shut out other good hands in the party.

But most of us do not buy into that argument at all. We believe whatever is sauce for the goose ought to be sauce for the gander.”

Just like their slogan, it is evident that PDP is all about power.

Pull Her Down syndrome in Nigeria needs to stop - Mo Abudu.

She said this during a CNN's Leading Women Programme and I totally agree with her. Do you?
