From 'Drama' to 'Photographs- #10 must have in your Bedroom!

The bedroom is my favourite room in a house. It gives the well needed rest and inspiration I need for the day's job and so I give it lots of time and attention. Have studied loads of local and international Interior designers and bedroom designs and have concluded that the following are the 10 must have for your bedroom:

A Comfortable Rug
Nothing ruins a happy morning (or makes a crabby) like stepping out of the bed onto a cold, hard floor. Do yourself a favor and make sure your first step into the day is cushy and comforting. Already have carpet in the bedroom but it’s not enough? Consider layering a smaller rug by the bed, a similar idea to what’s seen here in a room.

A bomb explosion in Apapa, Lagos.

I thought before now that Lagos was a safe haven as it regards insurgencies and Boko Haram activities, but all that seems to be changing with the news of a bomb explosion in Lagos yesterday. We have experienced series of blast on the same day in Abuja, Lagos and Adamawa. According to a report i got on LIB and according to a breaking news report on Vanguard, a bomb-laden car went off at Folawiyo Fuel Depot close to a Petrol Tank Farm at Creek Road, Apapa, Lagos around 8.30 this evening. The eye-witness said the explosion came from a Benz car parked right beside a LPG tanker

The explosion is said to have affected four buildings including two banks. Four people are said to have lost their lives. Details later...(photo credit - Vanguard)

Super Eagles looses to Argentina with a 2-3 score.

Getting into the football mood was so hard after the Abuja bomb blast news. Reluctantly I sat in front of the TV and watched every minute of the match. All thanks to Musa who scored our 2 goals making Nigeria the first African team to score Argentina more than a goal in the World cup. We lost to Argentina but still qualify for the knock out stage, as Iran lost to Bosnia. Who knows the cup could be ours.

When will this end? 6 people confirmed dead and 15 injured at Abuja bomb blast.

An explosion at popular Emab Plaza on Aminu Kano Crescent in Wuse 2 in Abuja, which happened just an hour ago around 4pm. The explosion is said to have occurred at the gate of the very busy plaza and six people have been confirmed dead with at least 15 people injured...

Will bring update as I get it...see more photos after the cut...

Calmness your number 1 rule in designing your home.

You put a lot of emphasis on calmness in the home, does every room need to be calm?

Every room has to have an element of calm. Your home is really a backdrop – much like a theatre – and we are the actors. Some people often think it’s the other way round but, for me, it has to have a very calm and neutral backdrop and you and your family, your art and your objects are what move and create the vibrancy in the space- Kelly Hoppen an American Interior design guru.

What else will you like to come home to? Chaos. After the hustling and bustling that goes on in your day, you must make it a priority to return to a calm home. It's key when putting your home interior together to make  great choice of colors and soft furnishing. Treat your home like the place that will produce the best you. Your home life reflects your outward look- Mercy Ebute a Nigerian Interior expert.

Interior Designers meet here to share fabulous interior ideas with you so stay tuned to InteriorMajik- Transforming homes, environment and minds needed for a transformed Nation.

The INEC Chairman, Professor Attahiru Jega, gave the assurance on Tuesday while speaking at the Commission’s quarterly meeting with the 26 registered political parties in Abuja.

2. The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, SSANU, LASU chapter has vowed to continue with its ongoing strike, pending when the demands of the Union are met. The Chairman of the Union , Mr. Saheed Oseni, said in Lagos that the decision to continue the strike was taken at the union’s congress on Monday June 23.

3. Polytechnic students will continue to remain at home as another attempt aimed at ending the almost one year strike of Polytechnics and Colleges of Education ended in futility as the absence of relevent government authorities at the meeting which was to hold yesterday led to its postponement. “The National Security took her and Daniel,” said the source, referring to Meriam Yahia Ibrahim Ishag, 26, and her American husband Daniel Wani.

The status of their two young children, one a baby born in prison before Ishag’s release, was not immediately known.
