15 ways to be the change you want to see in Nigeria- Pt1

If complaining were a course, all Nigerians will have a degree in it. If it can build anything, Nigeria will be a great Nation now, but here we are, in the same mess we've been complaining about. Many years later and my(our) complaining have brought us more to complain about. So here is the Game Changer, let's try it the other way. Instead of complaining, let's #BeTheChange and watch out for a different result. Albert Einstein said 'We can't keep doing the same thing expecting a different result.' And Gandhi really did help, when he said 'We each can be the change, we want to see in our Nation.'

We'd all like to live in a better Nigeria- Good roads, drinkable pipe-borne water, constant power supply, world class education, affordable housing, effective and available health care services, a Nation with visionary leaders, where all our socio-economic needs are met etc. I'd love that too, and yes our New Nigeria dream will be fulfilled.

With that in mind, let's begin to walk towards our dream, one step at a time with these 15 easy, super-doable things we can all do everyday to make Nigeria slightly better. Continue.....

HOME POWER!

As an Aesthete – someone with a special love/understanding of art and beautiful things, this topic is of utmost interest and importance to me.

If you were given an option not considering any limitations, what kind of life will you be living? Hey don’t look at Buckingham palace or some Prince Charles kind of life and wish it or give me an answer that fits someone else’s life that you are probably watching right now. Look inwards and answer this question – What kind of life will you be living, considering you have no limitations?

The Art of Living is actually putting into best use the potentials that you have around you and within you to create all that you want to or ought to be. No one will give to you what you deserve you have to make it happen with the God given potential that lies within you, I call it your home power.

Your home is actually a birthing place for all of your dreams and desires and also for all of the world’s solution for peace, harmony, justice and equality. Home Power is a concept that exists in all aspect of human existence….. Politics, Education, Business, Entertainment, Family, Media etc.

Can we take a closer look at our homes! More on this soon.

Gov. Ayodele Fayose throws more light on his 'Stomach Infrastructure' programme.

Newly sworn-in Governor of Ekiti State who has been criticized for making provision for stomach infrastructure immediately he got into office has explained why he actually created an office for it.

Fayose while speaking at the PDP national secretariat yesterday, when he accompanied President Goodluck Jonathan to pick his presidential forms said, even Britain does it. Read what he said below:

If you look at Britain, as rich and as comfortable as they are, in the entire time, they find their way to address the issue of the poor and less privileged masses in their country by what they call social security. Food is a social security, you can’t be talking to a hungry man, he would be distracted by any means. Secondly, when we say stomach infrastructure, it is a welfare programme, a programme that would keep the heart of a man stable.”

#Thought4Today- The Shoe-Less walk to Presidency.

Before
(Shoeless Jonathan)
After
( Shoe-ed Jonathan)

Could it be luck or fate? But whatever it was, President Good luck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan became the President of Nigeria on the 13th of January 2010, when a federal court gave him the power to carry out state affairs, while President Umaru Yar'Adua was being bed ridden in a hospital in Saudi Arabia. Fate continued its work and Yar'Adua died on 5 May 2010, and Jonathan officially became the President. He took the oath of office the next day.
He engaged in a re-election battle for Presidency in April 2011 and won in an election that some experts said may have been the fairest election in Nigerian history. One very catchy phrase that was in the air as he advocated for Nigerians vote in 2011 was that 'He went to school without shoes'. This depicted his poor upbringing and gave hope to many, who believed that anyone can rise above the limits of poverty to become greater than they dream. It also gave hope to many Nigerians who assumed his poor background, will arm him with enough compassion to better the lives of the poor when elected. Continue.......

Woman hanged for killing man who tried to rape her.

27 year old Reyhaney Jabbari (pictured above), was executed today October 25th by hanging in Iran
7 years after she killed a man that she claimed had attempted to rape her. Reyhaney was sentenced to death in 2009 for the stabbing death of Morteza Abdolali Sarbandi, a former intelligence officer.
A court ruled that she killed Morteza on purpose because she had bought the knife two days before she stabbed him in the back with it. In her defence, Reyhaney said she'd stabbed the man out of self defence. The court overruled her claims and sentenced her to death, a ruling which was upheld by Iran's Supreme court.

The execution was carried out today after the victim's family refused to pardon Reyhaney or accept money from her family. Many human rights bodies including Amnesty International had over the years called on Iran's judiciary to halt the execution but they went ahead with it. Her mother confirmed it, saying Reyhaney was hanged in a Tehran prison very early this morning.
