#MustRead: “I became an adult at the age of 12” Omotola Jalade talks Possibilities, Sacrifice and Faith at Emerging Leaders Conference 2015.

Omotola Jalade Ekeinde made a grand appearance at the Emerging Leaders Conference 2015. The Ace Nigerian actress was among the kaleidoscope of outstanding leaders who were guest speakers for the event. In her about 30 minutes speech which she delivered in her usual casual but very profound style, she gave a highly inspiring talk on the topic “Taste Of Possibilities.”

Seeing a huge number of youth corpers present, she threw more light on her controversial statement on twitter, which she opined that the NYSC programme be scrabbled. I meant the system should be improved on and more effective ways of engaging our youths be proffered, she said. With this, she cleared the air for a good number of youths who had misunderstood the statement. Continue.....

I had a very dysfunctional upbringing she continues, grew up with only my mother as i lost her dad at a tender age. She had to play the mother role while her mother assumed the father role in the house. “I became an adult at age 12”the actress said. With that background story, she challenged young ones present never to allow any obstacle impede their success. To succeed she outlined some ingredients that are key to emerging as a leader:

1. Sacrifice

2. Decision making

3. Staying consistent

4. Writing down goals

5. Training

6. Believe in a higher power

Does she have low moments? Yes, it’s not rosy all the time she agreed. She has her low moments. She pointed out she has not been invited for a movie role for a while now and she also talked about the time they were banned from Nollywood due to misunderstanding of their stand to straighten up things in the industry.

The proud mother of 5 jungles her role perfectly well as a mother, actress, activitist and philanthropist. She is indeed a leader of leaders whose presence at the ELC made all the difference for the young people present.

“I sack staff who come to me without pen and paper”- Omotola jalade. More quotes from her at ELC2015 coming soon on this blog watch out.
