NIS - FG approves review of 2,000 applicants/irregular employment.

The Federal Government has given approval for the review of the case for the 2,000 applicants who applied for employment into the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), but were irregularly issued letters of employment in February 2015.

This was consequent upon an emergency meeting of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigerian Fire Service and Nigerian Immigration Service and Prisons Services Board (CDFIPB) held on August 11, 2016.

Speaking on behalf of the Comptroller-General of Immigration, Muhammadu Babandede, Service Public Relations Officer, DCI E.S. King, said applicants for the screening are expected to meet the following guidelines: security clearance, drug test, certificate verification and implementation of CDFIPB policy on “Age on Rank”.

The age on rank policy states that applicants who are above the age of 35 years are deemed over-aged and need not apply.

“The general public should please note that the exercise is not a call for fresh recruitment,” King said.
