An APC clash in Lagos leaves seven people injured.

No fewer than seven persons were injured when disagreement broke out at a meeting of Lagos State Chapter, of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Apapa Local Government. The meeting called by Mr. Morufu Gbadamosi, chairman APC Apapa-Iganmu Local Council Development Area, LCDA, last Thursday, was to discuss the party’s programmes. But the members demanded that allegations of misappropriation of party funds, running a one-man show, diversion of empowerment slots for members and others should be addressed.

It was learned that the disagreement broke out after the chairman allegedly bypassed party protocol and called for a meeting that would involve every member of the party. While the faction led by the chairman demanded that the meeting must continue, another faction, which include the secretary, Dr. Taiwo Sodiq, demanded that the unresolved issues be addressed before the meeting.

Other leaders supporting the secretary were Mr. Sheriff Tomori, Prince Kayode Obadia, Alhaji Saubana Adeniji, Afis Olalekan, ex-Women Leader, Alhaja Osifeso; former member, House of Representatives and Mr. Isiaka Lawal, among others. The leaders demanded the removal of the party chairman, arguing that his leadership style led to loss of the State House of Assembly seat to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Responding, Gbadamosi said that the allegations levelled against him were untrue, saying, “They should ask the incumbent sole administrator of Apapa-Iganmu LCDA if he had given him N200,000 monthly for whatever reason.”

Police invites factions to sign undertaking Confirming the clash, Police Public Relation Officer, PPRO, Dolapo Badmos, said; “The Division Police Officer, DPO, waded into the clash and ensured that peace returned. The state chairman pleaded with the DPO that he will like to treat it as a party affair and he obliged him.

Meanwhile, the leaders of the two factions have been invited by Area commander and they were made to sign undertaking to maintain peace.
